I've been hiding tonight. Gave up my evening hide.
In this life, especially this time of year, we exhaust ourselves and others, with expectations, invitations and outings.
Like snow swirling outside, our lives swirl around us, like a blizzard of activity, and although sometimes enjoyable, it can wear a person down.
And so I hide.
For the past month and a half, I have been fighting illness. For the past three weeks, we've been in the process of family changes.....and changes bring on discomfort and fatigue.
And so, I hide.
Tonight has been about self care. About laying in my bed with my dog, watching movies....about napping at 6:30pm, and waking later.
About rest, about restoration, about being ready...for tomorrow.

And so, I hide. G'nite.

  1. Y'know, sometimes we actually NEED to take a little time out. Jesus went off frequently for time out: went to spend it in a place where he could get refreshed. We may not always find praying refreshing like that, but we do need a place to escape, so our human side can regroup and gather strength again.
